international gemological institute (IGI)
The International Gemological Institute (IGI) is one of the world’s largest independent diamond grading organizations, with more than 50 years of experience. Headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium, IGI operates laboratories across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and is accredited under ISO 17025, one of the most respected global standards for testing and calibration.
IGI is recognized worldwide for grading both natural and lab-grown diamonds. Its rigorous protocols and advanced instrumentation ensure every report is consistent, precise, and trusted across the jewelry industry.
what the IGI report covers
Independent grading that documents quality, measurements, and identity. 4Cs: cut, color, clarity, carat.
- Measurements: millimeter size, table %, depth %, crown/pavilion angles.
- Finish: polish and symmetry grades.

- Clarity plot: inclusions/blemishes marked under 10× magnification.
